Our Mission

Discover

The goal of our preschool is to help children discover and develop their own unique characteristics as they grow mentally, socially, emotionally and physically.

Encourage

At our school we encourage the development of skills

and talents by providing

an environment focused

on opportunities for

conversation, sharing,

and appreciation of others.

Experiment

We strive to provide an environment for children to experiment with art, music, math, science, books, and dramatic play to become more aware of their world.

Our Approach:

The Preschool in Montrose is a non-profit cooperative preschool operated by a board comprised of parents whose children are enrolled in the school. Board meetings are held throughout the year and are open to all parents who have a child enrolled in the school.

A cooperative preschool recognizes that parents are primary educators of their young children. It lets you share your child's first school experience, and help your child take the first steps toward independence. Parents are encouraged to visit the school any time their child is in attendance. Family involvement is valued at the preschool.

Parents take turns volunteering in the classroom throughout the year (parent-helper). By working with the teacher as parent-helper, you will gain a greater understanding of your own child and children of the same age. You will also have the opportunity to meet and create lasting bonds with your children's friends and their families, one of the most cherished aspects of the co-op approach. Teachers Teach, Parents Participate.

The Preschool does not discriminate in the enrollment of children on the basis of race, color, religion, sex or national origin. The State of Ohio Department of Human Services licenses The Preschool in Montrose. Our license is available upon request.
